When to call 9-1-1

The Ventnor City Police Department maintains a staff of trained 9-1-1 Operators who use an enhanced 9-1-1 system that displays the name, address and telephone number of the person calling for help.  In the event of an emergency that has caused you to dial 9-1-1 and you can no longer stay on the line whether because of fire, serious illness or a crime in progress, we will know where the call was originated from and help will be on the way.

In 2012, the Communications Operators answered 9802% of all 9-1-1 calls in less than 10 seconds. A total of 6,354 9-1-1 calls were handled by the Ventnor City Police Communications Operators during 2012.

To reach the Police Department for any non-emergency police business, call  (609) 822-2101.  One of our trained Operators will be able to assist you or transfer you to the appropriate person.  Phone Directory
