Communications

The Ventnor City Police Department maintains a staff of trained 9-1-1 Operators who use an enhanced 9-1-1 system that displays the name, address and telephone number of the person calling for help.  In the event of an emergency that has caused you to dial 9-1-1 and you can no longer stay on the line whether because of fire, serious illness or a crime in progress, we will know where the call was originated from and help will be on the way.

In 2007, the Communications Operators answered 98.24% of all the 9-1-1 calls in less than 10 seconds. A total of 5,269 9-1-1 calls were handled by the Ventnor City Police Communications Operators during 2007.
